No matter what we teach, things go better when there is rhythm and flow in the classroom. It could look like a back and forth conversation, the review of content, the moving along in a textbook, or the systematic building of skills and understanding. How do we improve what and how we teach? How do we get our teaching and our students' learning to flow together for positive results? Finally, how do we get all that to happen seamlessly while adding the arts (or other subjects) to what we already teach?

At SAIL this summer we will be exploring these questions to
design elegant solutions for
integrating the arts into the curriculum
...or vice versa...
integrating the curriculum into the arts.

Tech Track is a 24-hour experience. You will have the opportunity to experience virtual reality as it applies to various art forms. We will begin the process of developing an app with Augmented Reality elements to tell stories about people and places in Alabama. Learn how the new Alabama Media Arts standards can connect with the Alabama College and Career Ready standards.

We are re-designing SAIL this year. We will continue to mix rigorous content with creative hands-on participatory lessons that demonstrate arts integration at its best. The twist is that sessions will be developed in response to participant feedback upon pre-registration, ensuring relevant and achievable lessons that can be implemented right away in the Fall of 2019.
