Multi-Disciplinary Art Making

When saying “hands-on,” we also mean “voice-on,” “move-on,” and “sound-on!” We will be creating pop-up paper engineering constructions related to English Language Arts and Social Studies, constructing colorful Math-related visual art, and explore Natural Science through wood carving. Lessons will connect with story-telling, poetry, song writing, character education, and movement using meaningful gesture. Learn more here, and watch as programming unfolds!

Media Arts and Video Creativity

Become a star! Use your voice and your eyes to focus student learning. Customize lessons and learn the basics of creating a video that enlivens standards-based content. We will culminate this workshop by screening our own (or collaborative) videos to other participants. Put the fun back in teaching and learning. Your students will never forget!

Administration and Leadership

Discover resources to help you strengthen your role as a leader in arts education. Using a new framework designed by the Americans for the Arts, we will guide you through the process of identifying strengths for building energy and support for your program. In Alabama, the Artistic Literacy Consortium is positioned to help us all lead the way by practicing commitment, collaboration and advocacy.
