Welcome to art
look®Alabama

An initiative of the Alabama State Department of Education in partnership with the Alabama Arts Alliance.

artlook®Alabama is a virtual platform that connects
Alabama students with the arts!

Connecting public schools with quality arts programs is now easier than ever with artlook®Alabama.
This data platform puts information in the hands of teachers, principals, arts organizations, foundations,
corporations, and policy makers with the goal of increasing access to quality arts programs
in public schools for Every child, Every chance, Every day.

The benefits of the initiative will reach across all levels of the community by unifying data in a comprehensive, interactive map what will:

  • Provide schools the ability to search and connect with arts organizations, providers, teaching artists, and other arts education programs.

  • Allow school districts of all sizes to collect, map, and analyze data regarding the availability and distribution of arts staffing, funding, and services on a school-by-school basis.

  • Assist districts, schools, and communities making data-driven decisions to develop a roadmap to uplift and prioritize arts learning for all students as a critical part of addressing the needs of the whole child.

You too can get on the artlook map!

Arts Organizations and Independent artists are invited
to create an account, ensuring that your information
will be discoverable on the public-facing map.
