Poetry Out Loud

Every year thousands of teachers integrate Poetry Out Loud into their curricula throughout the United States, including Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
Poetry Out Loud is a FREE poetry recitation contest for high school students that builds students public speaking skills and self-confidence. Students, through research and creativity, design performances that deepen their understanding of their literary heritage, and that sharpen their craft of writing.
Alabama participates in the National Competition, and also holds an Original Poetry Recitation Competition.
